Mowamba River lodge is the perfect place to unwind with family and friends after a day’s skiing or boarding or any of the other myriad of activities available in The Snowies, or take a relaxing walk in the gardens and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
The Lodge is located 12 kilometres from Jindabyne on 120 acres with 1 kilometre frontage on the Mowamba River. It is 100 metres below the junction with The Snowy River and 1 kilometre below the Jindabyne Dam wall, tucked nicely away on the side of a valley overlooking the river, with the main range in the background. With only a 10 minute drive to Lake Jindabyne and 40 minutes from the ski-fields Mowamba River Lodge is ideally situated for your mountain getaway.
With its landscaped lawns and gardens which stretch down to the river, it provides one of the most unique, private and picturesque settings in the mountains. The property is a mecca for birdwatchers and fly fishermen or anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The flora and fauna on the property is bountiful with wild flowers scattered across the landscape, kangaroos, wallabies and also resident wombats, you may also be lucky enough to see the very secretive and elusive platypuses’ in the river.
During the spring, summer and autumn months, October through to May, Mowamba River Lodge operates as a Bed and Breakfast however it can also be used to accommodate large groups during this period.
From June to September the lodge lends itself to be rented out entirely for large family groups wanting to enjoy the winter snow season.
As the lodge has two accommodation wings this makes it ideal for a number of families to share or to provide some separation. With six (6) bedrooms we can happily entertain up to fourteen (14) guests in warm, comfortable accommodation.
