The Merredin Railway Museum pays tribute to the days of steam with a well restored recreation of the old station. You can pretend to drive a steam train and climb the signal tower for an interesting outlook. It is a real highlight for railway enthusiasts. Appreciate the architecture of the Railway Museum buildings dating back to 1913, with much of the original railway memorabilia still in place. Merredin was once a major rail junction for the Central Wheatbelt. Displays include; a G117 class steam locomotive circa 1897, a signal box housing 95 levers, displays of Merredin's railway history, a photographic register of pioneer women of the area, memorabilia from the Army General Hospital, and a display of more than 300 dolls and toys.
